Which genre have I picked and why?
I picked the genre indie for my music magazine. I picked this genre because I feel it has a decent amount of popularity but I feel it could be adapted to make it even more of a popular genre. I also picked this genre because I am very interested in this type of music and I listen to it often. I like the style of indie magazines and I would love to interpret it to make it even more intriguing than it already is. Indie is a specific genre and music can only be classed as indie if it is independently produced. Most indie music musiciains write, sing and produce their music themselves which makes them indie. The thing with indie music being so popular is that none of the music sounds the same, it has no specific assests but you can always tell if a singer is indie based or not. There are indie bands as well as indie single artists.

What Are The Conventions Of A Magazine?
One convention of a magazine is a headline. This is a text written at the very top of an article which indicates to the audience what the nature of the article is about.
Another convention is a strapline is a te or phase that is short and memorable. This makes it good for marketing and it catches alot of customer attention.
One other convention of a magazine is a masthead. This is a text written in a large font across the front cover, usually seen on the editional page of the item.
Another convention is a cutline. This is a one line text describing the illustration, drawing or photograph next to where it appears.
One other convention is pull quote. This a phase which is cut out of a article and placed in a larger font to attract readers.
One final magazine convention is an image. This is an illustration which is used to pass a clear view of article.
There is generally always a colour theme on a music magazine based on which genre it is. For example, a rock magazine like "Kerrang" may used red, black and white, whereas a pop magazine like "Top of the Pops" would use light colours like pink, purple and white. Though for any genre there are only ever a few colours used.
The layout of a magazine is also an important convention. Most magazines follow the typical conventions. One typical layout convention is the masthead which is usually displayed at the top left corner due to the way our eyes work when looking at things that is where we would first look. Also by the masthead the date and issue number are found. Another is price which is based generall by the barcode which usually is on the right hand bottom corner. Other things such as coverlines, straplines and taglines are dotted around on the cover where they look good in puffs or just by themselves.

Introduction To My Music Magazine Blog
Hello, my name is Emily and this is my blog for my music magazine. Over the next few months I will be producing a music magazine in media.As a preliminary task we made a blog for a school magazine which contained a front page and a contents page. The link to this magazine is found below.
A music magazine is a magazine dedicated to music and music culture. Such magazines typically include music news, interviews, photo shoots, essays, record reviews, concert reviews and occasionally have a cover mount with recorded music. There are numerous different types of music magazine for different music genres. Some of these types are Alternative, Classical, Rap and Hip Hop, Reggae, Ska, Gothic and Industrial. Q, Kerrang! and Mojo are all published by EMAP (Emergency Management Accreditation Program. NME is published by Mike Williams. There are lots of different companies which publish different types of magazine. The music magazines are published for people who enjoy music and want to know more about their favourite bands, gigs and music. The purpose of a music magazine is to keep an interested audience up to date with interviews, gigs and new bands. The magazines purpose is to also advertise and get new ideas out into the world of those who love music.
